Spotted one of these In a PCGS slab a while ago. Very sad people are tricked into buying these. Look at that crooked barcode!

Is it possible that NGC mis-spelled their own name?

Look at another on graded by NGC (On their own site) https://www.NGCcoin.com/

Scroll through the images on the title page to the 1922 $1 coin

The number on the slab checks out on the NGC site, shows same pic as seen on eBay (with same spelling)
https://www.NGCcoin.com/certlookup/4344795-004/58/

However, the NGC label is slightly different. look at the scales water mark - it is moved over a bit and not seated well in the holder in the eBay pic..

i don't think this is fake at all. The coin matches the orientation in the slab that the NGC photos show. The spelling is correct and the bar code is the same (which cheap fakers don't bother to do.) I think this is a case of a slightly distorted image and odd lighting that makes the slab look off.

Guaranty is a legit alternate spelling of guarantee. On their website, NGC uses this spelling:

After 33 years of speaking english...i had no clue there were 2 ways to spell the same word, and it have the same meaning. I'm honestly thinking of other examples of that, and I can not come up with any. I learned something today...cheers

100% fake through and through.

Here's the original slab and coin: https://www.walmart.com/ip/1955-Lin...GC/704765693

Apparently it was listed on Walmart.com

Despite the spelling being correct (which is also new to me...wow), the coin is still fake. In the Cert images you can see an authentic and quite nice example that still shows luster, opposite of the one shown on the eBay images. LIBERTY on the eBay example is just way off as is Lincoln's bust. Compare LIBERTY to a genuine example.

I made a comparison:

Maybe they bought an authentic example (slabbed by NGC, the slab we see here) and Inserted a fake DDO, keeping the original coin raw and hoping to cover their investment into the real coin by selling the fake off in the real slab?

The coin in the slab is a recognizable fake.

Agree that both the coin and slab are fake. Amazing how they matched the barcode and even the rotated die on the reverse.
