Can anyone tell me what's going on with this 1973 Penny? Is there an error here. It's just a weird looking penny.

I guess it rolled around in a laundromat dryer for a long time.
I can't think of any stage in the minting process that would produce something like that.

Dryer, ocean, or rock tumbler. Post-mint damage.

Definitely weird looking, but that folded over rim is a result of mechanical damage.

Very nice example. Consider dropping it into a 2x2 as a reference piece, or even a fun curiosity.
