Here's a fake Morgan Dollar that I pulled off the market so that it would not be a problem for a future collector.
It's not the worst fake I've ever seen, but it's not very deceptive. It's diameter is OK, its date mimics a legitimate one and it has a reeded edge, but its weight is off (it's light) and it does not include any silver; also, it was struck in medal alignment.
The artificial aging/wear applied to the coin helps cover some issues, but it remains an easily detectable fake. Be aware and alert!
