$65. Looks like a strong strike for an 84-O. Thoughts? Thanks!

I am at MS-63 due to cheek Rash . The fields look nice though.

Good strike

Clean fields

Good luster

The scratches and hits from the nose down are concerning.

Good strike indeed. There seems to be some disturbance in the luster around the motto. If you send this in, I think it may receive an MS Details Cleaned.
I'll wait for in-hand photos.

I'll say MS-63, shot 64.

The scrapes on the cheek may hold it back to a 63.

No kidding on the solid strike. Most 1884-O dollars look like they were pulled from a full stack at IHOP. It's a good purchase, even just for the strike.

Nick pickup. I think you have 1884-O VAM-21A, with a VFD, rusted obverse die, and overlapping reeding. It's a fun VAM.

The chin and neck scuffs are fairly deep. I think the obverse is MS-63. The reverse is much better. The rim ding at 11:00 may actually be a product of the broken/misaligned collar. I think it hits MS-65. The big question is how much the reverse pulls up the obverse. Both MS-63 and MS-64 are common for the date, but plus designations below 64 are hard to come by. I would call it a bourse floor 64, but I fear PCGS would drop grade it to MS-63.

Do make a note of the VAM, if it is 21A. It's not a rare VAM, but it's a fun one to have.

Very nice strike. With the others, likely 63 may be 64 in hand. I think $65 is a good buy considering the strike.
