I found this odd quarter well junk silver hunting, appears to have 1 side that appears either Struck Through Grease / capped die / or damage. For the most part I'm new to errors.

The reverse definitely looks more worn than the obverse, perhaps acid-etched?

Thanks for the replies, if it was acid etched that would explain the pitting. JimmyD I will definitely give it a look!

Possible dip in a thin layer of acid on the reverse. Silver also thins with acid:
1942-Quarter-Capped-Die?-Damage?-Or-Something-Else.
