1885 Liberty V Nickel Cracked Planchet?

Jakes Coins Pillar of the Community United States 735 Posts	Posted 01/03/2022 6:06 pm I noticed this a little while ago and was wondering if this would be a cracked planchet or just post mint damage or even possibly a fake? to me personally it does not look fake but I suppose its possible I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set \| Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better? Report this Post to the Staff

It looks out of round at the rim where the crack starts in the first image, and in the second image the rim looks quite deformed there. Now how about if you put it in liquid nitrogen (which was first liquefied in 1883). Just thinking out loud... Report this Post to the Staff
