Trying to complete my Peace dollar Series. In April of last year I purchased the 1921 in XF for $165 from a reputable dealer. I also purchased the 1928 in AU for $306. I got involved with other collecting interests and just recently returned to this series to complete it. I was shocked by the price spike of these both on ebay and from that reputable dealer. The 1921 is now selling for $350 and the 1928 is about $450. Even the common dates have seen a spike. ebay has a lot of problem and cleaned coins and the asking prices are well above book value. I'm just building a XF-AU set so it is still affordable and only 8 more left to complete my set but seems it is getting harder to find quality coins at the right price anymore. I'm sure the 100th anniversary has a great deal to do with the spike of the 1921 and perhaps sparked a new demand for this series. Anybody else experiencing this recent spike?

I definitely have noticed the spike, I would attribute this to the new 2021 Peace dollar & perhaps the state of the world right now as Morgans in general have also spiked (gsa cc's have spiked Alot due to the new cc privy morgans).. Luckily I only have a few common dated coins to finish my set, 6 more I think. I purchased my vf-xf 1921 for $80 after purchasing noticing it was a vam-3 ray through L & au 1928 at a steal of a price back in 2019 / early 2020.
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better?

Definitely seen the action. I just need the 1928 P and 1926 P. I really don't want to spend hundreds on a 1928 Peace dollar.

Just yesterday I priced the 1928 S in XF for $61 and today it is now $72 from the reputable dealers site. These prices are spiking on a daily basis right now.

The revived interest in Morgan and Peace dollars with 2021 has improved prices, and the coin market in general is "up" right now.

I did my Peace dollar set with 50% from the dealers AU bin at $17-$18 per coin. I paid more for the others with an AU 1928 being $175 and an AU 1921 at $150. Those prices are not happening for a while now.

I got scammed (trusting my eyes) at a local coin show (within 100m of home) when I bought a 1928 Peace dollar. When I got home and I took it out of the case for closer inspection, I found it was an altered 1923.
Next coin show there was a different dealer at that spot.
