I am wondering if this is a lamination or something on the planchet. The top half of the E looks shifted, and to the left of the E looks odd. Also to the right of the S looks odd. It also looks to me there is a gap at the bottom of the right side of the S where they dont match up. A lamination crack looks like it continues through States. Thanks for looking!

My initial thought was struck through copper foil, but seeing it extend up through STATES has me leaning toward it being a lam. I'm interested to see where we net out on this one.

Often we see a lamination that that is longer, but I feel also that this maybe the end of a lamination that was cold roll onto the stock material. If the weight is close to normal it might help, but with circulation wear, it may alter the weight a bit. But not a big thing. The convincing thing to me it that it has the roll out look to it, more than a struck through debris look.
