i see NO doubling on the obverse or reverse.
tell us what you see is doubled.

the "tear drops" under the eye on the reverse looks like contact marks from reeds of another quarter.

Looks like the Reeding Railroad (Pun on a Monopoly game property) ran over it altering your coin as mentioned already. Just damage to the coin. Why is this not a DDR? If it were a DDR, the it would be raised. Damage is incuse into the coin. That is the differences.

@here, interestingly, the castellated damage on the bat was caused by the same type of impact as the damage on George's cheek. They look a little different, perhaps due to the ingle of impact varying a bit.
