Another option is to do a proof set.

I put this series together a while back over the course of a few years, ranging in grades from VG10 in the early dates progressing to mint state towards 1947. I went this route because as you turn the pages the consistency and eye appeal present the series very well. It was a blast selecting the right coin to match the next in line. Have fun with that set!

Thanks Ballyhoo! I'm going to hit up the TNA show next week and see what I can find. This will be my first coin show, yay! I've tried to be prepared by making a spreadsheet with mintages and values for the range of conditions so I can make a somewhat informed decision. Jon

I'll be attending the TNA show Friday with my 82 year old father. I grew up in Arlington, within walking distance of this venue.

Nice additions. Will you be adding the major varieties such as the 1944-D hand engraved initials and the 1946 DDR?

Quote:"Nice additions. Will you be adding the major varieties such as the 1944-D hand engraved initials and the 1946 DDR?" That's a great question. I will have to decide when I get there. For now, I'm really just focused on dates and mints. After that, I might look at adding proofs. Jon
