Ok, dumb question I'm sure, but somebody please answer it for me. How can you tell the difference between a
2022 W Silver Eagle and a 2022 W Burnished. I don't see anything in box / packaging that says Burnished. What am I missing? Thanks

The burnished have a mint mark on the reverse. The W in front is Adolf Weinman the designer of walking liberty (and also the Mercury dime)

The box refers to the Burnished dollar as "uncirculated" while the other W-mintmarked dollar is proof.

OK
on Apr 14 2022 the mint released the W-Proof ASE
on Jun 01 2022 the Mint released the W uncirculated ASE - also known as burnished
on Aug 08 2022 the Mint will release the S-Proof ASE

And that is all that you can buy from the mint
In the Public sector (your LCS) or on line sites such as Pinehurst, AMPEX or Bullion Exchanges you can buy the Bullion ASE "with NO Mint mark at all"
The Bullion usually sells for SPOT + $10.00 or so

You have to remember the Mint does not use the same language that we do. We call (or used to call) the bullion strikes Uncirculated, the mint cals them bullion strikes. The ones we call Burnished, the Mint calls Uncirculated. And we both call proofs proofs. Coins made for every day circulation we call business strikes, the mint calls them circulated.

What we call die clashes, they call come togethers. What we call radial die flow lines they call starburst.
