Wow, what a coin! Looks like about an AU-53. Small scratch across the denticles on the obverse, but it's a beautiful coin!

Glad to see it's already in a holder. The obverse has so much detail it looks like it could be tooled.
I'll assume it straight graded with my guess being AU55. Beautiful piece.

Why is there no denomination designation on early coins ?It could confuse people.

In the early days of U.S. coinage, the weight of the metal and the metal content standard was more important than the denomination given by the issuer because many foreign coins prevailed in commerce in the country before the issuance of official U.S. coinage. Dealers in money in those days produced conversion tables for a lot of different foreign coinage used in the U.S.. This one was reprinted by historian Michener.

#2.... Now your just showing off I always love seeing the collection you are putting together, the kind of coins you need to sell a few organs to acquire Thanks for sharing such a unique and rare coin/coins I think it's a really beautiful design(this is my first time looking at quarter as special as this/these The last emoticon I posts just because I have never seen it used and don't know where it would be used, it's for special occasions.

It is best to let the OP post the results of the grade. The OP typically post the grade in about 48 hours. The photos are not showing any signs for a cleaning. Tough grade on a 1796 example.
