The double rim is quite inconsequential.

However, the reverse Rim Cud makes it a very desirable coin.

A very collectable coin, I can't comment on the scarcity though, as I actually have 3 of these (all 2008) with minor differences of position of the Cud.

There seems to be a few 5 cent rim Cud coins around. I have 3 x 2003 rev and a 1996 obv.

Nice find AC

I have 15 that I know of up to when I stopped regular noodling in 2011.
Date range is from 1994 - 2008, but only 5 different years and as far as I can remember, all are on the reverse.

Quiz question....I wonder what makes the reverse side of the 5 cent die more susceptible to deterioration?

The double rim is reasonably common for 2008 5c pieces: https://www.coincuriosity.com/view/...t-piece.html

I wonder which die is on the bottom during striking - that might be the answer.

IMO the 2008 5c with a double rim is very common.

I have not seen any yet without it.
