Hi All,
Picked this up a while back when Ag was $27...I paid $32 apiece for these...I've never seen a Box Set before and I thought for the price...it wasn't too bad. Contains Unc 1986-1990...The 90 is washed out with glare...just trying to show you how the Set came.
I tried doing a Google search and Ebay sold listing search...but to no avail...
Anyone seen one of these Sets before...? Late night TV commercial or end of a tour gift shop purchase?
Thanks for looking!

Probably someone putting ASEs in a box from something else. I believe there was someone here who did that with the '21 Morgans, using an ASE set box.

The Kennedy Mint was a mass market, direct-mail coin dealer that advertised in general interest magazines for decades. It sold quite a number of "coins in a frame" - matching a group of coins to a pictorial theme (e.g., Lincoln Memorial Cents, Coins of World War II, etc.) and placing the grouping in a frame for display/hanging.

IIRC, they offered a variety of assembled coin sets in various cases (i.e., not just themed frames) and weren't bashful about the prices they charged. Its target audience was NOT the educated coin collector, but rather the casual collector or individual looking for a gift for a coin-collecting friend/relative. Its products were not good investments!

Though I can't point you to an advertisement for your specific ASE set, it does seem to match the type of set the Kennedy Mint sold.

From what I understand, it closed its coin business about 10 years ago.

commems...Thank you for the background on the Kennedy Mint. The case the set came in is a snapping hing type...you put your finger in there when closing and you're gonna feel it!. None of the coins are tarnishing...so the capsules they are in are pretty decent.
Your knowledge is very important to this community...and we really appreciate what you have to offer for/to us!
Thank you!
