Well I have the 1952 to date mint proof sets (so far) (the 1955 was issued in both a box set and a flat envelope - so I had to get both.)
I have 1958 to date mint Uncirculated sets (including the gift shop mint sets from 1982 and 1983)
I also doubled up and have all modern coins from Cent to dollars in my Dansco albums for display. (with all the proofs)
(I have all the prestige proof sets and the limited edition sets too.)

My Proof Set collection starts with 1936, but I stopped it after 1942. So I have just those seven sets (all coins in slabs).

As I bought and sold, I stashed a handful when I came across some. I think I have 1957-1964 for the 90% silvers. I couldn't afford to keep the 1942 proof set in the box that I came across.

Do you collect them in the original packaging? The early sets would be a challenge to find but with the right storage conditions I would think it would be well worth the hunt. 1930's-1940's proof sets in original packaging are seldom seen but very neat.

I have all of the proof sets 1953-2022. The 1953 and 1954 issues are NGC graded, and the 1955-1964 and 1968-2022 are all in original government packaging. I also have the 1965-1967 SMS sets in original government packaging. A total of seventy years of coins.

I do also have the silver proof sets from 1992 through 2022. These are all in original government packaging, with the 1992-1998 issues being in the fancier display case.

Perhaps one day I will go after the 1936-1942 and 1950-1952 proof examples.

@Erscolo:
It looks like we both have the same sets in OGP, but mine start at 1950 so far. I do have all the proof coins that were minted in each demonization except for the Lincoln Cent. All I need is the 1936 proof now. I managed to get the 1937 to 1942 (all these are in PCGS holders). When I get the 1936 I'll have every proof coin minted in each series. (yes - I'm not counting on the 1909 to 1916, for these are probably untouchable)

I just today managed to get the 1937 and 1939 Proof Lincoln cent in PCGS Holders. All I have left to get is the 1936's (yeah-right!). So lets see if I can make that happen.

I was born in 1955. I saw in various magazines in the 1960s that ,for some reason the 1955 set was of higher retail value than others. I own now 1952 - date proof sets, all the silver sets, and thanks to my mother's estate tons of clad sets from the seventies. None have been certified, most from the seventies forward in original mint packages. The 1952 set is the only older set in the flat pack.

I also have lots of "mint" sets, and single mint coins in the cellophane (bought a couple weird estate packages from ebay)

I have NOT searched any of these coins for die varieties or errors.

Is there any advantage to having a 1975 set (penny nickle and dime, 1975) and/or 1976 set each having the bicentennial quarter, half and dollar? Also what about the special 3 coin only bicentennial silver sets?
