Hi all I found this 1989 penny with an odd coating that created what looks like pimples on it has this been altered? Beautiful coin but not sure if this is all mint ? Or been altered in some way ? It does weigh 2.5 g

The finish looks like trapped zinc dust and the rim looks like early Ridge Ring. Also, please use a memory card in your scope.

Yes, trapped zinc dust. Also, looks like there's an emergent Ridge Ring on the obverse--an indication of Die Deterioration.
