Hi just came across an article about 1983 copper verses zinc coins. Both of these weigh 3gr...i am not using is sensitive scale so it my be an extra .01gr

Are these of value as they say in various articles

I would suspect the accuracy of the scale. The first one pictured is definitely a normal copper coated zinc coin, as there is zinc corrosion on the left edge on the obverse.

By the initial photo I'm skeptical.

Weigh these on calibrated scales with resolution of 0.01 grams and report back. If genuine then yes - they have significant numismatic premium.

zinc pennies don't weigh 3 grams.

your inaccurate scale could be rounding up to nearest whole number - if it weighs 2.5 to 2.9 grams it will round up to 3.0
(The top image shows that the coin is a zinc coin.)

Drop them both on a table — wouldn't recommend this for uncirculated or better, but it won't matter with these two — and compare the "ring tone" to a known copper (pre-1982) cent.
