A dear friend bought this for me at an estate sale. She knows nothing about coins, but knows I'm a collector. Quote: "They had a bunch of 1921 silver dollars for $35, but this one was different from all the others so I got it for you." She has good instincts and a heart of gold!   Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Possibly, the others she was referring to were Morgans?

Yes, the others were 1921 Morgans. She did mention that they were not uncirculated.

Wow great deal! I just paid slightly under $1000 for an MS-63 so I'd say at $35 that was an absolute steal!
