I have an idea that this is cool but my ideas don't always line up with reality. Also should this quarter sit in acetone for a few?

I agree with MD. Also,I noticed that you post way too many photos per thread. One full coin pic obverse and one full coin pic reverse as well as one or two close ups where and when needed.If we need to see more we will kindly ask.

Machine Doubling is what your are seeing. Note the devices are reduced by the MD. On a doubled die the devices will be rounded, not flat

On a DDR on a quarter the devices will show enlarged devices:

Note the wider devices on the lower image. That is what enlarged devices look like. The top image is showing a normal coin.

MD and Way to many pictures. If I remember right, To many pictures costs the site more than 2 or 3 pictures. Anyway, Semper Fi.
