It looks more like a business strike to me. 1972 S - Business mintage - 376,939,108, Proof Strike mintage - 3,260,996

I agree, it appears to be a business strike, not a proof.

Yes, I'm thinking business strike. The rim is curious, but the straight-on shot of the reverse takes me back to business strike.

Business strike. The rims do not look squared enough to be a proof.

Anytime I pick up a coin when roll hunting, before I even look at the date, I can feel it to be a 60's or 70's. I'm right like 99% of the time. They are just well struck and have an edge that speaks to your fingertips.

Do you have an example of a proof strike vs business strike? I have quite a few of the 60's and 70's that look like this one
