I'd appreciate your thoughts on this one...possible error as word "WE" on obverse seems smudged. Color seems obviously off but is it error or PMD I don't know? I've learned alot here already thanks &!
with environmental damage. As a detectorist I dig many every year. Either a ground or water coin. You won't be able to change the color as once the acidic dirt/water is on it, it's cooked. A spender or keeper if you like. I put mine in the rock tumbler to clean before turning into the bank, however they do look cool when finished. Almost a novelty piece in a way.
If it were an annealing issue, the entire surface of the coin would be uniform in color. Seeing how I can see the bright shiny surface of the cladding on all 3 sided, tells me that this coin was toned out due to the environment it was in.
