Hi and  ... Stick around here for as much learning on coins as you want! This item you are showing us was a real nickel and real cent that someone smashed together post mint to possibly make a curiosity. All of the nickel side has bad post mint damage with the discoloration and large scratches. Folk out there can do some very strange things to coins

Thank you all! I appreciate your replies. I was wondering, is there a book or pdf on all the various coin errors for each year for US coins? I've looked but haven't had much luck finding one. I'm a total amateur when it comes to coins but I love looking at them under magnification. Thanks everyone!
