I have this prestine 1943 steel penny that, on closer observation, appears to have multiple (mint) errors. Double date - both 4 and 3 doubing. "Liberty" smeared "L" and "Y". Two large obverse and reverse horizontal die cracks in upper half of coin. I look forward to comments on rarety of multiple errors in the 1943 steel penny, as well as how this would affect value. Apologies for so many photos but I wanted to show different angles of all 3 errors.     |

@jack, your pics are really nice and I don't think there are too many. This cent appears to have been reprocessed which brings the value to essentially face value. With that said, I think the other areas that you point out are either damage or evidence that the die was wearing out when this coin was struck.

Yes, a replated coin that looks like it had circulation damage before it was replated.

At least 80% of the reprocessed steel cents I've seen *look* doubled because of the plating and I've seen a lot.

A lightly circulated, non- cleaned or non- coated coin is best.

I see a big circulation his/smear on behind Lincoln right by the y in liberty.
This coin is very shiny, indicating a re-plating has been done to it.
The doubling looks like it was caused either the plating or a deteriorated die, or both.

This coin was re-plated in modern years far after the 1943 era.

For funny. On PCGS forum was posted this topic because probably a big marron of rare coins post on YouTube. So enjoy, I have 2 bags of those could I can go with just 500 each, charity and IRS will exempt me of any tax?  |
