I like to go through all the change I receive, looking for any circulation goodies. I missed this one, though.. I happened to look at the coins sitting in the catch-all tray in my Chevy Equinox today and saw an older Jefferson. To my great surprise, it turned out to be a 1939-S! It's well-worn, but it is a 1939-S. I don't know how I missed this one. *** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark to Title. It's very important to have in the title. *** Paul Bulgerin

Sweet find! Seems like a good candidate for storing in a 2x2.

IIRC the 39-S Jefferson was the first coin I ever purchased, simply had grown tired of flipping over 1939 nickels and seeing no mint mark
next time I'm at the bank I'n gonna ask for a roll of catch all trays

Amazing! I've been collecting for 50 years and that's still one of the empty holes in my Whitman folder. I think this is an indication of good luck for you... and envy from me!
