Hello everyone. I recently came across a few jars of pennies that my grandfather collected. He passed away in the early 90s and so far most of the pennies appear to be 1982 and prior. There are a few late 40 and 50 wheats mixed in. I assume he was pulling out all the copper pennies he came across. They are all circulated but in good condition. I assume most of them are going to be worth. 1 penny!
Before rolling them up and depositing them, are there any varieties, errors, or key dates that would be worth looking for?
@doub, first welcome to CCF. Second, there are several good websites with information about varieties on Lincoln Memorial cents. One of them is varietyvista.
"If you climb a good tree, you get a push." -----Ghanaian proverb
"The danger we all now face is distinguishing between what is authentic and what is performed." -----King Adz
to the CCF If you really want to get into them, there are many minor and a few major errors and varieties up until 82. makecents's links are where you need to be.
