Well Team, here is my 160th Bust Half Dollar and it's the 147th variety in the infamous Blue Collar Bust Half Dollar Collection, (BCBHDC). LOL...

SuperDave, you can go ahead and attribute away. I'll post the Overton # in an hour or so if you (or anyone else) haven't gotten it by then.

Hmmm. Thank you for that; I was being sarcastic, but this actually turned out to be an interesting and worthwhile experience. There's a lot of 1836 varieties which closely resemble each other, and I learned a lot in the process.

O-110, I think, based on the S in STATES, the D-E overhang, and the shape of the 5.

Congrats Bonedigger, it must be getting difficult to find types you don't already have.

Question: has this one had the clasp detail re-engraved? The oval groove looks very sharp considering the level of wear, plus it appears to consist of several straight lines rather than a smooth curved line.

You know, I took a look at that and also took in the fact the shield stripes/lines were also in pretty good shape. Don't think it has been 'touched up' but I can't re-examine the coin now as we're in Texas attending a funeral. We should be back home by Sunday or so.
