Checking through a few American coins that I've accumulated over the years and I came across this one.
A quick google tells me that it is a quite interesting item but what are Type 1 and Type 2?
A couple of green patches so an honest coin!
Would there be any interest in it if I offered it for sale on this site in this condition?

It's a Type 1, Five Cents on the raised mound. The S mintmark is very collectible and the coin is in pretty good shape (F12?). It's a nice piece.

1913-S Type 1, VF30 and worth about $65 retail

1913 was the first year for the Buffalo or Indian Head nickel and two types were minted that first year. Type 1 Had FIVE CENTS and the mint mark on top of the raised mound. Type 2 had just the top part of the mound where the buffalo is standing lined off and the area for the denomination and mm was recessed. If you had the Type 2, you would have a $475 coin.
