1916-S Wheat Cent-Greaser? Need Help Identifying

ComeHonor716 New Member United States 39 Posts	Posted 08/05/2023 4:56 pm I'm used to seeing the usual grease filled area around the O of "one" on many wheat reverses. This one is different as it's concave. I don't trust my eyes but I feel like I'm also seeing the top left portion of the N in "one" withing this concaved area. I did the usual err ref check and can seem to find what I need. Any help identifying the term for this would be appreciated, thanks. Report this Post to the Staff

Can anyone help me understand what looks like the top left portion for the N in ONE within the struck through area. If it is the N I'm having trouble understanding the chain of events leading to it being where it is. Did a grease filled area from the previous strike drop the N? Report this Post to the Staff
