Indian Head Help With Unknown Date

The best I can guess is possibly 1865. Anyone got better eyes?

Here are numerous photos with different lighting. I found the closer I zoomed the more difficult it was to try to determine the date.

Have you tried to take a black and white pic? Sometimes that helps.

It's a type 2 so would be mid 1886 or after. 1888 gets my vote as well.

You could also try the old pencil/paper rub to see if you can get a little more date detail that way.

Pretty sure it's a type 1 so 1886 or before.

I think 52Raymo has better eyesight than me, squinting my eyes and twisting my head, I now agree, type 1. Maybe 1868.

I see what looks to be a Shallow N reverse as well as a type 1 obverse. Would likely make it 1860s. Maybe a 1865 or 1868.

I vote 1868 from changing the tint back and forth.

I'm calling it - 1865. Acetone and a Q tip along with your remarks helped me come to this conclusion.
