I hate to call a spade a spade but I have just not found any real luck with Loomis and my halves search. I am on close to a 20 box streak with them in terms of skunk boxes. I am in the Atlanta area and am a branch manager and order through Loomis and have just not had very good luck. I am thinking about pursuing other banks that might order through Brinks or someone else to pursue. I know that many people are searching which lowers the odds but when you are talking about 20 straight boxes that is a lot of weight to be hauling around with little/no return.... Is this the general sentiment for other parts of the country as well?

I can't speak for box searches, but roll searches I've been doing for decades 'out west' haven't turned up any silver halves in many, many years. Last silver halves I came across were discovered in a teller's tray eight or nine years ago.

I live in a small town north of Boston. My bank orders $500 boxes of half dollars from a nearby Loomis site. My experience is that most of those boxes are "ice cold" (they contain no silver). But occasionally I get one that is quite "hot". Recently I acquired a $500 Loomis box that contained 34 40% silver coins and a few 90% silver coins (including a Walking Liberty half dollar). About a year ago, I acquired a Loomis box that contained 20 40% silver half dollars and four 90% silver coins (including another Walking Liberty coin). I think the "good" Loomis boxes contain silver coins that were stolen from a collector or cashed in by a naive family member who didn't realize their value. I also have found silver half dollars at other banks after I purchased the small number of coins that a customer turned in for cash.

Locally Loomis seems to incorporate more new coin into their rolls than Brinks or Garda. As soon as I see a Loomis box I bristle.

I've heard rumor that Lumis pulls out the silver halves. I don't know how true this is. Banks in my area order from Lumis but don't order halves. I could get them special ordered (2 box minimum) but the bank won't except them back.
