The pickings have been slim since mid-February (when I acquired a customer-wrapped roll at a local bank that contained 19 silver
Kennedy half dollars). I found two 40% silver coins in one roll I purchased at a different bank in mid-March; and one 1964-P half dollar, one 1968-D half dollar, and a 1992-S impaired proof half dollar (an ender) in a $500 box of Loomis half dollars that I acquired this week. And not one silver dime in many customer-wrapped rolls.
I know that other coin-roll hunters are active in my area because sometimes bank tellers inform me that someone else recently purchased all of the half dollars a different customer had brought them. This week I had an indirect contact with one of them when I was searching through 16 customer-wrapped half dollar rolls I acquired at one bank. About halfway through I found a coin with the inscription "
No silver here -- you can stop looking". Kind of funny.
But I know another lucky "hit" with my name on it is out there! I just gotta' be patient.
