Could anyone tell me if this is an error or did someone somehow break this?

It is not smashed or dented around the break edge.

Thank you in advance.

to the CCF, Velvethell.
At first I was going to say that your coin is suffering from zinc rot. On second thought, it could have been frozen with liquid nitrogen and then cracked. In any case, it's just a damaged coin - not a mint error.

Around the O of ONE, it looks like the fracture might not have been purely brittle.

@vel, welcome to CCF.

PMD of some sort. It's not a mint error.

Pretty cool homemade "error." Good observation by @Spence about the torquing or twisting on the reverse.
