Dead Money Giveaway #2 (Ended)

One of my favorite pastimes is hiking. The Appalachian Trail runs from Georgia to Maine spanning about 2178 miles. My hiking buddy just completed another chunk of it. Every year, he does a piece of the trail with the goal of finishing the entire length.
Guess how many total miles he has completed so far. No, my buddy is not S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford, who told his staff last week that he was thinking of hiking the A.T. And no, I have never hiked the A.T.

rules:
