1917 type 1 and 1930 type 2. Both of these were raw ebay purchases that I lucked out on at the time. I don't think I've posted them here for grading purposes,     So feel free to grade away! |

The 1917 looks MS-63-ish, with a strong full head. I see nicks on Liberty's cheek and breast, plus a dark pockmark on the shield which I expect would keep it from MS-64.
The 1930 has a full head, except I don't see an earhole which is required for the FH designation. There is either strike weakness or light wear on the shield, drapery, and right leg. I also see what looks like some friction on the eagle's breast and a couple dings in the reverse field. Luster appears strong, so I'll peg it at AU-58 with FH if the earhole is detectable.

beautiful coins all I can say is MS on the top and it does look like a AU on the bottom (no toes)

I agree the 1917 is at least MS-63/64, and the 1930 if it wasn't for the wear on the shield would have made MS, but is a nice AU-58.

Nice buy!  I wish I wasn't so afraid of e-bay, but being a newbie, I don't know enough to not get ripped off...would love some coins like this at a deal though!  |

I dont think its quite MS,,,,the back looks alright ,but the front looks like there is slight wear

Thanks for the grades guys! I pretty much agree with your assessment. The 1917 is FH, which is pretty common for this type. The 1930 I would also consider nearly full head, except for the earhole as Jaobler pointed out. I would have thought of the 1917 as a 61 or 62. The hit on the breast is pretty big. However, it's coincidentally in the perfect location to give lady liberty a more, shall we say, "realistic" look. ;-) It's my one and only full out PG-13 rated coin! The rest of the coin is pretty clean.
I agree with a 58 on the 1930. Light rub, but the coin is still almost fully lustrous. It has some beautiful orange-black hues around the rim.
I paid $150 for the 1917, and about $80 for the 1930.
