ooooh, that is a rare variety. Not only is it on the wrong planchet, it also is a rotated die, has Machine Doubling, and has all kinds of other rare facets. haha

But in all sincerity, at least this wasn't found a roll. It always is a bit irritating to find a few of these intentionally stuck into a roll. It just always brings up the moral dilemma of whether one should just reroll them since it was not your fraudulent act or if you do have to just incur the loss. Of course I always take the high road and do the latter.

I find these in rolls sometimes, I think they are great. I keep em! I have several varieties, I'm waiting for PCGS to add them to the mix. Grading is kinda tough, though.

G'day, I don't know much about Seppo coins, but am I right in thinking that because of the lack of a mintmark, this one is from the Philadelphia Mint ?
Everything else that's missing can be attributed " Grease Fill" -a uniquely American phenomenon ...

Put it in a basement slab, ms-70, and sell it on ebay as a mint error dateless, "Godless" 1960 cent, very rare collectable!

Seriously, that's kind of cool! Looks more like a growth than a beard on poor Abe's face, though!

No-Date, No-Motto, Filled-Beard, No Lincoln in Memorial, No-VDB-in-shoulder Memorial cent
Broadstruck on a wrong size (and wrong composition!) planchet!

This is a variety collector's dream, right here!

Sadly, it has hits on the steps, even though there are only three steps (in the center!)

If only it was 'full-step'!

hippiebrian - give the basement slabbers some respect. Any fool can see that there is some wear on the reverse. I"d give it MS64 max, even from the likes of PMGI (Play Money Grading Institute).

MS-64? With such a full strike? I'd go 66 at least!
