Sorry if this coin has been featured in another thread but I'm pretty excited that it's my first Seated Liberty dollar. I bought this coin off ebay and would like some grading opinions. Dipped or not? I'm using the seller's photos(Chance:)     ******EDIT: Just wondering what a value would be for this coin considering it has been cleaned most likely****

Very nice coin. It looks like it has been cleaned at some point, some surface marks and slight rim damage. I'd grade this coin at AU-55.

Nice coin Chance! Pretty hard to judge by his lighting but if I has to guess, I'd say AU58+ by what looks like the slightest hint of rub on eagle and hair.

I don't think the rim bumps are sufficient enough to warrant a details grade for being damaged.

I had an 1850-P that had a rim bump that was very similar to those, and that (the rim bump)didn't keep it from getting a problem free holder from NGC.

AU-55, it MIGHT have a chance at AU-58 and maybe a .001% chance of MS-60

NICE! I would go with an AU-58 for this. Great detail with just some unfortunate chattermarks on it. Still, a real beauty!  |

Wow, that coin has virtually NO wear on it. There appears to have been a very careful cleaning done at some point, evidenced by the squared-off toning around the stars. I think that the baggies and that would hold it to about AU55 (and I bet it would slab, if that matters to you) but it looks like a stellar example for a Seated Type set. Congrats!
