JimR Pillar of the Community United States 1490 Posts	Posted 04/08/2010 5:32 pm This is a foreign coin my Grandfather had. It has very attractive toning in my opinion. Wolf New Member Poland 3 Posts	Posted 04/08/2010 6:08 pm This is one sen coin. It was struck in 1936 in Japan. pls Rest in Peace United States 1729 Posts	Posted 04/08/2010 10:25 pm The top image is upside down. Nice pix, by the way. The "bone"-appearing object in the top pic is actually the numeral "1" and should be above the symbol ("sen"). Also, many Japanese coins of this period included an image of a chrysanthemum, which appears at the top and bottom of the obverse side of this coin. I agree - this coin displays very nice toning and is an excellent example of why I tend to prefer bronze coins over other metal, at least for appearance. Report this Post to the Staff
