Isn't this the rarest and highest grade of it's series? I emailed the seller and he told me the coin in the picture was the exact one I would receive. He offered a 7 Day return so this kind of surprised me.

Almost certainly a fake. Seller has only 2 feedbacks. Stay clear.

I see this sold for $711 and it's listed in Numismedia at $55,000 in MS-61. Somebody either got a steal or (almost certainly) better hope they can get their 700 bucks back.

Diagnostically, the eyes and certain head details do not look right. I also believe this buyer has been taken.

These are rare and valuable coins ...... when they are real. The seller just sold his 1795 flowing hair for $49 and must live where they have amazing mail service because he sold on 4/29 at 2:30 and on 4/30 the buyer posted a rave review at 12:30. Coin delivered in less than 24 hours!
Eye is wrong, and on the offcenter 1795 Draped bust, the second "s" in "STATES" should have a flat bottom. Someone is going to be upset when that coin arrives.

If I was the seller and honestly believed that coin to be real, you can be sure I wouldn't complete that transaction over the threat of a mere negative strike on my ebay record.

Likely hoping for a hit and run not realizing PayPal will hold the funds on him.

Here's a 1794... not the same coin, but with the idea along the same line...

http://cgi.ebay.com/Replica-1794-Fl...em20b082c772

... very nice work and reasonably priced. At least it's silver. If you check back far enough in the feedback(*), that nasty "replica" word won't necessarily be there messing up the craftsmanship.

>>> edit >>> (*) page 14... thus far. I have no usual witty edit quip to add. The nice coin bit wasn't sarcasm... free shipping for 25 smackarinos(< I made that up, but not the 25 part)... not a bad hole filler, eh?
