Major Die Crack Or Split Plating ?

This is a cool one it is raised like a die crack what do you all think Die crack or plating ?

It looks to me like the split runs through the letters rather than additional metal on top of the letters like a die crack would do. I'm leaning towards split in the plating.

Some parts do look like a die crack, though. I wonder if it could be a combo of both?

i am not sure but I think that is plating issues pretty gnarly though

With being parallel to the rim it may have been a shallow scratch during the rolling process that activated the zinc under this Cent. Note the T on UNITED? See how the T has a pothole next to it and the T appears moved on the top half. That is what I think I see on this coin. Others may chime in a well. But this is what I think happened to it. If there were more examples from the OBW roll then I would think die crack. But this looks like it could have been an outside job. (pun intended) LOL

What is the date on the coin? If it's split plating it would have to be 1982-1985. If it's 1981 or earlier, there is no plating and it would be a lamination of sorts. Either way, it is not a die crack.
