Bryan, thought I picked the easiest in the book. Only 12 to choose from. No doubling of anything, VAM 1. Until I noticed a spike between chin and lower lip. Checked Vamworld, nothing. Checked Vamupdate, nothing. Do I have a VAM 1 or does this spike make it something else?

I notice there is very little reference to clash marks in the VAM book. Does that mean they disregard most die clashes when it comes to assigning a VAM number?

The only time a clash will get a VAM number is when there is a letter transfer.

Here is my favorite, an E from Liberty's cap that shows under the eagle's tail feathers.

alot of die clashes are not considered a specific VAM# as Becky said because they happened so frequently. Usually when you have a VAM# like VAM 84a or something like that it just means its a VAM-84 with a clash that left a letter or partial letter in specific places, but has all the main attributes as the regular VAM#

I'm just curious about something stmpcol. If you are only wanting Bryans opinion and sometimes Becky's why don't you just e-mail them? We have many, many, many knowledgeable individuals here inaddition to them that may just chime in with their vast array of education and knowledge as well if your threads/questions were directed to the entire CC Family. Just a thought!

Yes Bryan is very good with VAM's, no doubt about it but, there are others too. I'm starting to not even bother with your threads as you don't seem to want anyone else's comments if so you would direct them thusly. Sorry, I'm a bit cranky.

Because this is an open forum so that someone can read this thread a year from now and learn something. From the workout the email server's been getting I suspect there's already too much stuff being emailed that should just be posted on the forum. Unless it's private stuff, it should be shared, that's what we're here for.

I'm sure stmpcol would value your opinion. It's very obvious that our members have different specialties and certain questions cause them to leap to mind. When they leap to mind like that, its just human nature to go to them. I realize that there are other people that might know this answer, but if you were a bettin' woman, who would you put your money on?

I'm guilty of this somewhat myself. When I see an 8 reales thread, if swamperbob hasn't been on in a while, I send him an email to bring it to his attention. He's usually on it within the hour. Does that mean I think no one else on the forum would know the answer? Certainly not. It just means that I'm 99% sure that swamperbob will know the answer.

Let's have fun and learn.
