Ok don't be hard on me. I'm starting off and I'm really getting into these coins. I just ordered all the books and equipment so that is not in pictures. The picture quality is horrible so sorry. This is on a college/1 year old daddy's salary haha. Down the Middle are mostly Morgans on the right hand side are all Washington quarters.

Be careful calling these investments; implies you will eventually sell them, sometimes difficult to do! Nice collection!

Not bad for two months worth of work! That's the one thing I hate/love most about this hobby, is that there is too much to collect, too little time/money to buy everything! Which brings me to my next point: whatcha gonna specialize in? You have enough type coins to start a Dansco 7070 which is the first thing that came to my mind... and also a good start to a high MS silver Washington quarter collection certified or raw. It's ok to buy a little of this 'n that along the way, but most of your collecting budget should be directed towards a recognizable goal, such as completing an album or matched set, if you intend to dispose of later for a child's college education. This gets a lot of mileage, but true nonetheless: buy the best you can afford, and learn to grade coins (even the ones inside slabs can be wrong.) Good job!

Congrats! ebay is also a great place to pick up a ton of stuff cheap...but you need to learn carefully and slowly in order to not get ripped off. However, if you do things right, you can get $100 coins for $50 sometimes. I find that it's easier to sell coins from popular series', but tough to sell those from less collected series (because people often want just one for their type set, not multiples). Be careful with dealers too...if you try to sell coins you bought from a dealer on ebay, in most cases you will lose money (especially after the extreme fees). Welcome to this addictive hobby...

Thanks everybody really enjoy your advice. I'm still trying to figure out what I really want to collect. I was really into Morgans but I don't think the budget can afford that collection. I'm still searching :)

You've got a really good head start on the Morgans, and if you really love 'em, there's no reason to stop collecting them. True, you would have to mortgage a couple of houses in order to afford them all, even the keys in XF-AU. Have you considered a date set? A member posted a few threads back a nice collection of Morgan/Peace dollars in a Dansco date set album that was nicely put together. The only really pricy coins in BU would be in the 1892-1895 run, and if you choose AUs, the prices are even better. Morgan dollars are the workhorse of the hobby, and so many people want them, so a good matched set would definitely hold its value.
