Unknown Greek(?) Coin - Coin Community Forum

It also seems to have Aristotle on the front according to Google Image search. I hope I can find out what coin this is and the possible value. Sap Moderator Australia 16909 Posts	Posted 07/04/2013 8:31 pm That's not Aristotle. The coin is a shekel of Tyre. The obverse depicts Melqart, the Phoenician version of Hercules. I'm afraid we're going to need clearer pics of it to narrow down the date and verify whether it's genuine or not. Because these coins are often marketed and sold as "thirty pieces of silver" coins (from the Biblical story of Judas' betrayal), they are very often counterfeited.
