I bought this 1865 3CN for a lot of reasons. For one thing, the dealer was clueless as how to grade it. It was graded Fine. What a joke! It's actually an AU+. This coin is a poster child for how difficult of a time the Mint had with trying to produce this new series. Theres a
Cud, weak strike in certain areas, clashed dies, and very deep rims (the deepest I've ever seen on any 3CN I've handled). There are some toning spots which detract a bit on the reverse but overall I love this piece as a superb representative of how hard it was to strike the new nickel coins!
