1836 Bust Half Dollar Edge Star? O-119

flyank Valued Member United States 77 Posts	Posted 07/20/2018 8:19 pm I've searched and searched and cannot find a definitive answer on an edge lettering question regarding the 1836 Bust Half O-119. I have the expected vertical lines separating the words but is there a star(s) as well?...and if so, what is its proper location? My Thanks as always..... Report this Post to the Staff

AcesKings Pillar of the Community United States 1649 Posts	Posted 07/21/2018 11:21 am My 1836's & my 1835's have a star between the words "Dollar" and "Fifty". I imagine they used it as a somewhat starting point. None of my 1834's have a star though. (That's all I looked through, because my eyes aren't geared for that small of print anymore) Report this Post to the Staff

On my 1836 O-119 there is one star located after DOLLAR and before FIFTY so it appears we now have a corroborated answer. My Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff
