That is either a very poorly struck counterfeit or spent a lot of time in someone's pocket. Either way, it's not worth the asking price and to re-sell that would be problematic.
The risk on this is too high. Given you can purchase 1 oz of gold (Maple, Brittania, Queens Beast etc.) from respected vendors in the UK (where this is located) for under 1,000 GBP (range is 960-990 GBP) where none of the quality or legitimacy risks exist...
The arithmetic just doesn't work on this one. Move on.
