Just found this tonight searching local bank rolls.

1988P- RDV-006- Looks like it to me , but I'll wait for the experts on this one before I go and get all excited!

*It seems to have a chip/worn spot at the base of the G, but still looks like it has a slight curve.*

*Looks like it might be the Stage A, Die #2 from the Variety Vista site- matches the die-markers.( if it is a 1988P RVD 006)

Question for Chuck (Coppercoins)

Is this cent rare enough and in nice enough condition that I should consider having it slabbed by either ANACS or NGC?

I don't know what value this cent might be worth?

Thanks for your help on this.

Chuckster: This one looks like die # 3. I think there is a glitch in the programing on the site. When you click through the buttons on the screen, you get a different number than at the upper part of the screen. But I believe the button is correct. Here is an edited image of your coin.

Chuckster - I'm not sure what these are really worth yet, just depends on how many show up. Right now the market is a bit inflated on them because they are still a rather new discovery, are still somewhat popular, and people are banking on them being scarce.

As for slabbing them - I don't see why not, but I don't think NGC is recognizing them. ANACS would be the best bet to get it holdered with the reverse variety noted. At a cost of somewhere around $15 I would think it would work out fine for you monetarily. I'm pretty sure these coins in MS grades will bring over $15 over the long haul.
