Well, I went and searched out one of the others you posted above - the 1 of 2013 Gold label - that one is now going for $450.00. So lets see if it sells at that price.

However, I just found one that is going for $42.00 and the gold label state 1 of 300 for a 2016 ASE in MS70

Asking prices and sold prices tell very different stories.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

That post I made is unrelated to your 1 of 2013 labeled coins (these are 300 total), maybe it should be moved to its own topic but it also has 'similar' silver/gold foil labels so I thought it might add to the convo here.

A MS70 2023 might be around $125 so you are paying a premium vs getting a slabbed PCGS MS70... however this will have the special label that only 300 coins have in total. And as a bit of gambling it appears 30 of them will have instead the Gold Rush labels and three of each coin were paired with the Infinity label. Considering the high premiums paid by those who have registry sets I just thought to mention, and of course we have some collectors who may like special labels. Others have mentioned they ignore anything related to special labels in their personal collection and thats fine also for them and enjoy collecting the coins.

that is a HUGE Drop in price - I'm guessing he (him/her/they) have been trying to get rid of it for a while to drop the price so drastically.

@Datadragon (David) I get what you were saying, and your post is just fine here as I think it is relevant too.
It just got me wondering about other older silver/gold special labels and what folks are trying to get for them.

Isn't this the same marketing that got shunned and dragged over the coals when HSN did it first with ICG and then ANACS but is now "Market Acceptable" since it says PCGS on the slab?

I guess cleaned, damaged, and other defects are ok as well if you submit the same coin enough times to them.

It's not coin collecting, it's not numismatics. We need a new term.

Scriptology is taken, "refers to the lore and inter-disciplinary study of the nature and implications and assocations to the way people represent language or ideas in two-dimensional space."

This doesn't have a name: https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/22/us/b...d/index.html

Collectors buy numismatic coins, "labelectors" buy the slab label. I just made it up LOL. I confess to being a labelector a time or two.

21,000 banana labels is a passionate collector and made friends while doing it. there might be 25 in the US, roughly 50 in Asia and 200 in Central and South America so thats a very niche type of collection but quite unique.

For older video games I mentioned before that I collected variety labels, even going all the way back on the atari 2600 when I was a kid, yet in many cases the actual game inside was the same. However some also collected hardware, box and even instruction manual variations as well! And these were never intended to be collected for value reasons at all but later the rarity plus demand for them made them higher values. https://atariage.com/system_labels.php So I don't see why coins should be any different except that all collections have to draw the line somewhere based on money, time, and goals. Clearly only certain labels may be worthwhile due to demand and low mintage while others have no demand and will never appreciate.

Some sellers may have financial issues where they sell below value and maybe a good deal for something, rather than something being of low demand and value and so they don't sell and end up selling at lower amounts.
