I do not think that is a genuine coin.

It looks etched then acid damaged to me.

It does look like acid or heat damage to me. Milestone coming up, contest/giveaway coming up?

Thank you gentlemen for your input. I purchased two coins yesterday from a local haunt where there is a bowl where the price was $5 per coin. All of the coins were Indian heads and I picked the two oldest dates. Other than that I couldn't tell you the previous history of the coins. I will have the coins weighed today after I buy a new scale and will upload images. Heat damage and acid damage and not a genuine coin seem to be the consensus. I will research acid damage and heat damage and their effect on coins to learn more. Thanks, Jonathan

If it is genuine then either acid damage or someone attempted to dremel off the pitting from corrosion with a brass wheel.
