1 look counterfeit.

I don't think that those date number punches were ever used by The U.S. Mint

Over a month since first posting and no update. I guess the OP got his answer.

OP, you are also confusing the proof coinage with the subsequent usage of the die for business strikes. PCGS' estimated survival of business strikes is 3,000.

It can be difficult to see the L on lower-grade coins, but the rounded bust point (vs. the sharp point of your coin) is also a diagnostic.

Read Jaime Hernandez's and Ron Guth's notes about the proof version of this coin and David Hall's notes on the business strikes on the above-referenced pages.

One has to wonder how many of these 'one and done' new posters are the actually counterfeiters testing their 'works'. Now they know what needs to be fixed I gather.
I swing a metal detector and have a knack for finding dirty old coins.

I dont think this guy is a counterfeiter, but after all of his "research" claims, he still doesn't know the basics for looking at identifiable diagnostics of these coins.

When he mentioned that there are die states and "Doubling" that make for variants on the 64L proof, he lost all credibility that he knows what he is talking about. These are famous coins, there is tons of information on them online.

It's odd how the OP said several times that he had done his research and has a lot of expertise on his side, while his original post was "So what do you think is this a cameo, what exactly do I have here, and is it valuable". Something's off.
