Did anybody else get the CAC email about a surprise July 4th privy mark on the DJT dollar? I can't seem to find the article on their website.

OK so now I have to ask.
This coin has been the discussion of several topics and a/the majority of responses were. "they" would never buy this coin or "hard pass for me".
Now with the possibility of finding a privy marked coin in the bags/rolls offered through the mint. Does/will that change anybody's mind?

I was already planning to buy one and carry it as a pocket piece. Although I am neither particularly political nor an avid supporter of the current administration, I genuinely appreciate the distinctiveness and uniqueness of this coin. I especially like the reverse, as it marks the first time an eagle has graced the dollar coin since 2008.

The PM is a gimmick to sell more rolls and bags. . .we're supposed to believe it was a coincidence this news broke the week before the coins went on sale ? Horse feathers.

This whole gimmick from inception to magical "discovery" was planned to insure a sellout.

I just wonder how long it'll take the Chinese counterfeiters to start pumping these things out!

So where exactly do you sign up for an "advance delivery roll"? That's the real headline to me.
"I like money. I can't believe you like money, too. We should hang out."

GreasyFingers, since you asked, absolutely not.
The coin should never have been made, for reasons articulated earlier, and this "discovered" privy indicates that this is truly a gimmick. In contrast to the 250,000 privy quarters which are circulating coins, these dollars are NIFC and are sold at a hefty premium (2.5 face value) with no known quantity of the privy coins known at this time.

This is an artificial rarity and a gimmick to sell the coin.

Nope, a marketing gimmick changes nothing.

will the possibility to find them be limited to purchasing them on the US Mint website on Sept 2nd?
Or, will they 'also' be put into circulation with other dollar coins?

The mint simply says they will be interspersed throughout the rolls and bags. 9 million minted thus far, only at Philly.

I truly enjoy just about every type of coin but this one's a no for me. Good luck searching for those that want one.
